NRES 441 Zoo Keeping & Management (ACE 10)
Spring. 3 credits. A capstone for Zoo Animal Care students.
Taught with the Lincoln Children's Zoo and Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoos! This hands-on class teaches all aspects of working in zoos including zoo keeping, medical care and exhibit design.

NRES 301 Environmental Communication Skills
Taught every fall. Lecture 3 credits. ACE 2.
Develop an array of communication skills essential for conservation professionals including public speaking, technical writing, public relations, media relations and campaigns, and conflict resolution.

NRES 434/834 Environmental Education & Interpretation
Taught every fall. Lecture 3 credits. Part of the Environmental Education Minor. Requires 20 hours of service learning.
Acquire environmental education and interpretation skills. Tangible strategies and techniques will be learned to teach both formal and informal audiences.

NRES 322 Environmental Education Curricula
Fall Semesters. 3 credits. Lecture.
Get certified in national EE curriculum. Gain experience planning, organizing and teaching environmental education.

NRES 498 Ecotourism Development & Entrepreneurship
Summer 2014. Field course 3 credits. Requires 20 hours of Service Learning.
Work hands on with clients in a rural community to develop ecotourism and agritourism businesses. Includes marketing, tourism and business planning for entrepreneurs. Develop community tourism plans.

ENVR 249 Individual & Cultural Perspectives on the Environment
Taught every spring. Lecture 3 credits. ACE 9. A required course for Environmental Studies Majors.
A survey of the human dimensions of environmental issues. An understanding of varying perspectives associated with environmental issues is paramount in order to effectively move toward sustainability. Culture, ethics, religion, gender, affluence, and poverty all influence individual and societal relationships with nature and perspectives of environmental issues.
